Vision Books from Ignatius Press

The Vision Books series from Ignatius Press is a wonderful collection of Catholic biographies written especially for young readers, generally ages 9–15, or about grades 4–9, depending on the individual title and the child's reading level. The books tell the inspiring stories of saints and other remarkable men and women whose lives have shaped the Catholic Church and lived out their faith with courage, conviction, and holiness. We use these in my 6th grade class for silent reading, quarterly saint biography projects, and more!

From St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and St. Maximilian Kolbe to Maria von Trapp and other influential Catholics, these books introduce children to real-life heroes who show what it means to follow Christ in every age and circumstance. Written in engaging, narrative styles, they bring history and the lives of the saints to life while encouraging young readers to grow in virtue, deepen their faith, and discover the extraordinary things God can accomplish through ordinary people. They are excellent choices for Catholic school and homeschool libraries, independent reading, and family read-alouds.
